Ukraine Celebrated Healthy Gums Day: Over 80 Clinics and More Than 600 Patients Examined
On May 2, 2026, Ukraine hosted a national initiative to mark Healthy Gums Day—a large-scale educational and social project aimed at raising public awareness about the prevention and early detection of gum disease.
The event was organized by the Ukrainian Association of Periodontology and Osseointegration in collaboration with WHITE DENTAL GROUP. The initiative was part of the international “European Gum Health Day” project, which is held annually with the support of the European Federation of Periodontists to draw attention to the importance of gum health and the prevention of periodontal disease.
Gum disease, particularly gingivitis and periodontitis, remains one of the most common dental problems worldwide. At the same time, many patients underestimate the early symptoms or seek medical attention only in the later stages of the disease. That is why the main goal of the initiative was to remind people of the importance of regular preventive checkups and early diagnosis.
As part of Healthy Gums Day, participating dental clinics across Ukraine conducted free gum examinations for anyone interested. Patients had the opportunity to receive a professional assessment of the condition of their periodontal tissues, consultations with doctors, and recommendations for further care and prevention.
This year, more than 80 dental clinics from various regions of Ukraine joined the project. Thanks to the joint efforts of doctors, partners, and organizers, examinations were conducted for more than 600 patients.
The organizers note that the project has once again demonstrated Ukrainians’ strong interest in the prevention of dental diseases and the importance of public awareness campaigns on oral health.
“We are sincerely grateful to all the clinics, doctors, and partners who supported the initiative and joined us in celebrating Healthy Gums Day. Thanks to our joint efforts, we were able to draw the attention of hundreds of people to the importance of gum disease prevention and the need for regular checkups,” said Myroslav Solonko, President of the Ukrainian Association of Periodontology and Osseointegration.
