EuroPerio Congress

The EuroPerio Congress is undoubtedly the most prestigious event in the world of periodontology and implantology.
This year, it took place in Vienna and brought together over 10,000 participants from around the world.
Ukraine was represented by a large delegation of over 90 participants. This is one of the largest Ukrainian delegations in the history of EuroPerio.

Two leading Ukrainian organizations—the Association of Periodontists of Ukraine (APU) and the Ukrainian Academy of Periodontology (UAP)—were represented at the EuroPerio 11 congress.

And perhaps it was the atmosphere of EuroPerio—the war, the dialogue, the openness to cooperation, and the support from the leadership of the European Federation of Periodontology—that all served as the impetus for a historic decision: to unite the efforts of the UAPD and the UAP, as well as representatives of all training centers, groups, researchers, and practicing dentists — periodontists and implantologists, dental hygienists — and create a new, expanded organization capable of representing Ukrainian periodontology and implantology at the European and global levels: the Ukrainian Association of Periodontology and Osseointegration.

This is a step we have been working toward for a long time. A step inspired by colleagues from Ukraine and around the world—all those who sincerely care about the development of Ukrainian periodontology.

Periodontology in Ukraine has a long, fascinating, and diverse history. It is represented by prominent figures, civic organizations, universities, training centers, researchers, and practitioners. And today, we are all ready to sit down at the negotiating table, align our visions, find common solutions, and formulate a unified strategy for the development of our professional community. The war has shown that our greatest strength lies in unity and mutual understanding.
There is a lot of work ahead. But we are entering a new phase with renewed energy, enthusiasm, and vision.

Our colleagues from the European Federation of Periodontology have welcomed this initiative with great enthusiasm and are ready to provide comprehensive support. A huge thank you to the entire EFP team—President Spyros Vasillopoulos, David Herrera, Mariano Sanz, Anton Sculean, Lior Shapira, Darko Bozic, Niklaus Lang, Monica Guinea, and everyone else who has supported us along the way.
And thank you to everyone who stood by us, supported us, expressed their trust, and shared a desire to work together.

Special thanks to the esteemed President of the Ukrainian Association of Periodontists, Prof. G.F. Biloklytska, who initiated the creation of the Association of Periodontists of Ukraine and has served as its permanent President; who made it possible for the Association to become an associate member of the EFP in 2013; and who continues to be the inspiration and driving force behind new ideas and achievements.
We extend our deepest respect and gratitude to the members of the Board and all members of the UAPD for their tremendous, long-standing work in the development of Ukrainian periodontology.
We are not saying goodbye; we will continue our work within the new, expanded Ukrainian Association of Periodontology and Osseointegration!
